Nearly Gone

by ExperiencePlus! - Wednesday, June 6, 2012

Picture this – you know that you are going to take a bicycle tour with ExperiencePlus! this year, you’ve even honed in on where you want to go, you might have even booked your flights, but there is still one critical thing missing – – you haven’t actually booked your tour!  Believe it or not, this happens more often than you’d think.

We have quite a number of tours that are sold out or nearly sold out and if there is one thing we hate it’s having to say, “I’m sorry that tour is full”, to someone who wants to bicycle with us. In an effort to try and avoid this we’ve put together a list of tours with very little space; if any of these are on your list for this summer or fall, please let us know as soon as possible!

ExperiencePlus! co-founder Paola Malpezzi Price takes a break above Lake Como Bicycling Italy’s Lakes District (Plus!): there is only one space left on the August 19th departures of the short or “plus” tour. The good news is that both July 29th departures are confirmed and there is more space available. We are very excited about this new destination that features the finest of the Italian lakes including Lake Como.Fairy tale landscapes riding with ExperiencePlus!

Bicycling Scotland’s Highlands Coast to Coast: the August 25 – September 2 tour and the Plus! the Isle of Skye that ends on the 5th of September are both sold out — however you still have a chance to join us  on the July 21 – 29 departure to cycling across this spectacularly beautiful country.

Bicycling the Danube from Germany to Vienna Plus! Hungary, which was selected by  National Geographic Traveler’s as one of  50 Tours of a Lifetime in 2011 and we still have a few spaces on the September 1 – 13 departure. If you don’t have time for the full 13 days join us for the first 8-days that ends in Vienna.Picturesque villages await bicycling in Belgium with ExperiencePlus!

Bicycling Belgium’s Best Breweries: both September 8th tours are sold out but there is still space and plenty of beer to be had on the August 4 – 11, or August 4 – 14 departures.

Cycling the Camino de Santiago – Roncesvalles to Santiago: another National Geographic Traveler Trip of a Lifetime. We only have one space left on the September 14 – 28 and September 21 – 28 departures. There is still space on the August 24 – September 7 (August 31 – September 7) departures. Join us to enjoy spectacular landscapes, meet pilgrims from around the world as you make your way to Santiago and the Cathedral of St James.

Bicycling the Best of Provence (Plus! the Luberon & Aix): the September 21 departures are sold out. Join us for these classic tours on October 5 – 12 or October 5 – 15. The weather is still perfect for cycling, most of the tourists are gone, and you are in the heart of harvest season so look for vines laden with grapes ready for picking.

Cycling the Coast of Sicily tours October 11 – 17, or October 11 – 21 to find out. There are still a few spaces left on this amazing tour that features wonderful coastal riding and beaches, orange groves, vineyards, capers, olive oil, and, of course, the Mediterranean!

Cycling Piemonte, a favorite region for many a cycling traveler in northern Italy – a perfect combination of incredible wine and the best of both French and Italian cuisines. Oh, and the cycling is pretty sweet too with rolling hills dotted with vineyards. There are just a few spaces available on the September 2 – 9 and September 2 –  12 departures.

The Dordogne river valley in France has been inhabited for centuries and features some of the nicest cycling routes in Europe. You’ll explore prehistoric caves decorated with intricate paintings, medieval castles, market towns, and the longer Plus! itinerary ends in St Emilion in the wine region of Bordeaux. Several of our Italian staff including founder Paola Malpezzi Price rank the Dordogne as a favorite. Join us September 4th for either the 7 or 11 day itinerary.

Cycling Italy’s Culinary Delights: Emilia Romagna (Plus! Bologna) travels to an area ExperiencePlus! knows intimately because you are never more than a few hundred miles from the family farm that serves as our European headquarters. It remains one of our favorite areas for riding and for eating! You’ll visit parmesan cheese, wine, and balsamic vinegar makers and enjoy the culinary highlights the area is famous for including Parma ham, nougat, homemade pasta, specialty cheeses and more. This is what Italy is all about and there are still a few spaces left on the September 16 – 22, and September 16 – 26 departures.

There are more bicycling vacation options available in Italy, France, Croatia, Germany and Spain so check out the website and start planning!
