Happy Holiday Season

Rick Price, ExperiencePlus! founder and resident Santa

We probably say this ever year, so not to break tradition – we will say it again… Where did the year go?

Wherever the year went, we are thrilled to be heading towards 2014.   Why you may ask? We think we have put together one of our most exciting, diverse and interesting group of cycling tours ever and based on the number of you already registered for 2014, you wholeheartedly agree! We have already sold out 7 of our 2014 departures, and 6 more have just a few spaces left.

We don’t want to get too ahead of ourselves though because we still have a few departures in 2013 in one of the most beautiful destinations we travel to, Patagonia’s Lakes District in Chile and Argentina.  If Patagonia has been on your bucket list for a while, join us in February – or if you are looking for a gentler tour down South this winter, pedal with us through Chile’s Wine Country, or bicycle through a  stunning variety of landscapes in April in Northwestern Argentina.  We’ve heard from past travelers that these winter/spring tours are a great way to kick start the spring cycling season and to keep motivated through the winter months to stay active.

Speaking of winter plans — Cristina is coming back to the States!  Each year Tour Leader and ExperiencePlus! Ambassador Cristina Taioli plans a trip to the US to catch-up with past travelers and to host events where she talks about the joy of (bicycle) travel and shares stories from her own adventures. Here’s her tentative schedule for January and February – let us know if you’d like to be notified when she is in your area.

Have a wonderful holiday season,
Monica and Maria Elena

Book Reviews: The Ludwig Conspiracy

The Ludwig Conspiracy By Oliver Potsch

ExperiencePlus! traveler Jeff Berger is back to review another novel by Oliver Pötzsch. Travelers heading to Bavaria will be particularly interested in the mystery and suspense surrounding the life and death of “mad” King Ludwig II.

Check out Jeff’s review here.

Recipe: Hungarian Goulash

Hungarian Goulash

Hungarian goulash has undergone several iterations, similar to the way Central Europe has experienced a variety of rulers, administrations over the centuries. Try this traditional soup; it’s a hearty blend of meat and potatoes, and we hope it may inspire you to consider pedaling through Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary with us in 2014.

Stay warm and well-fed this holiday season with this Hungarian goulash recipe.
