Bicycling Texas' Hill Country (TourzPlus!)

  • Itinerary Summary

This is Texas as you never imagined - all things and more that the big, beautiful Lone Star State is famous for. One of the best kept secrets in the country for bicycle tours, and features miles of lightly traveled roads winding through gently rolling limestone hills and river valleys shaded by giant cypress trees. Limestone outcroppings are reminiscent of the Loire Valley or Provence, and might explain why the cultivation of wine grapes is increasingly popular here. Tour historic and beautiful LBJ Ranch by bike, and ride to the legendary country music hamlet of Luckenbach. Enjoy peak wildflower season when stunning Texas Bluebonnets and many other colorful flowers bloom. The trip is centered around a three-night stay in the cowboy chic town of Fredericksburg at a lovely inn that defines rustic elegance.
