Where are some of the places you’ve gone with ExperiencePlus!?  Italy (twice), France and Croatia

Congratulations your next trip with us will be your 5th trip which means you'll receive a substantial discount through our Re-Cycle program. You must really like this bike tour stuff.  What does bicycle travel provide you that other trips do not? The opportunity to venture into villages, roads, places I’d never otherwise find. The opportunity to meet new and get reacquainted with old friends. The thrill of experiencing the local culture, food, people.

Tell us a bit about the Toronto bike culture: We are most fortunate to have bike routes that are almost 200 kilometers through parkland and along lake fronts in this large urban modern city. From April until mid November, social, casual and recreational cyclists are everywhere. The hardier actually use bikes as a means of transportation in winter – we do get snow and freezing temperatures here.

What motivates you to travel to far-off places? The thirst to see other cultures, taste different foods, meet different people, in their own milieu.

We understand that you have a personal connection to textiles and fiber artwork.  My wife is a weaver and on almost every one of my bike trips I have found wonderful and creative different forms of weaving. The most interesting was in a little Croatian village the name of which escapes me for the moment. It felt like a throw back in time.

Do you have any movie or book recommendations? Just saw Frost/Nixon; Slumdog Millionaire – recommend them both. As for books, anything by the now deceased Canadian author Carol Shields, is terrific

If you have a day off… I’d go biking

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know: Notwithstanding my chronologically challenged state, I went back to University to take a Masters. I’m in a course with my son and we’re doing alright (ok – I’m having a ball).

Anything else you’d like to share with us?  I think that ExperiencePlus! has fulfilled all my expectations and beyond not only with knowledgeable and capable leaders, but in managing to attract interestingly eclectic cyclists where we manage to explore sites, sounds, tastes in a fun and safe environment

In Norway - he's not always on bicycle when he travles - but often!
