Interview with Customer Bill Hunter

Name:  Bill Hunter

Family Members:  Margie, wife

Age (be as vague as you wish):  67

Where are some of the places you’ve gone with ExperiencePlus!?:  September 2009, Cycling the Coast of Tuscany

Any favorite memories from Cycling the Coast of Tuscany that you’d like to share?
After learning about the Etruscan necropolis and the grounds around it we rode up the steep hill to Populonia for lunch. It was a hard ride and we were happy to see Stefania at the top showing us where to leave the bikes. Just inside the castle walls was a bar with a couple of our tour already there. We had a fantastic lunch of fresh salads and beer. Over the time we took for lunch the entire tour group joined us. We had great fun there and drank most of the bar's beer.

Where does your love of the outdoors come from?:  I grew up in Colorado

Describe your perfect day outdoors:  Day 4 of the Cycling the Coast of Tuscany tour, biking to cool towns, enjoying them and biking on. The beauty of the road and surroundings, smelling the grapes being harvested, enjoying the sun while testing my stamina on some of the longer hills.

Where is your favorite travel destination?:  I don’t have one yet, because I’m still exploring.

Do you have a movie or book recommendation?:
I just read The Art of Racing in the Rain – it is awesome.

What’s your favorite ride in your hometown?:  From home along the bike trails in Fort Collins, CO to Bingham Hill and back

What’s one outdoor activity that you’d like to take up?:  More snow shoeing

What’s one outdoor activity that doesn’t interest you in the least?:  Camping

Describe the greatest adventure you’ve taken:  We flew to Argentina to visit Margie’s “family” from when she was an exchange student in Miramar 40 years ago.  We stayed in Buenos Aires and then flew to the coast to be met by her friends from 40 years ago.  What a wonderful experience.  We spent the night and then flew back – long delays both ways, but a real adventure.

Anything else you’d like to share with us?:  We love being close to the people on a tour.  To me, it is the people, the participants, the guides and the locals who make travel so much fun.
