Bikes in Central and South America

Costa Rica

Though our Costa Rica tours are operated almost exclusively on paved roads, the potholes and steep climbs and descents we occasionally encounter call for mountain bikes.

We use Cannondale mountain bikes, featuring aluminum frames handmade in the USA.  They are equipped with HeadShok front suspension, 27-speed Shimano drive trains and powerful linear-pull cantilever brakes (V-brakes).

The tires are chosen for durability, ride quality and low rolling resistance.

All bikes are professionally maintained with official Cannondale suspension parts by our experienced mechanics at our Costa Rican headquarters in La Fortuna, near Volcan Arenal.

Chile and Argentina

Like Costa Rica, South America offers a variety of road surfaces that are best suited to mountain bikes. Our fleet in Argentina consists of GT and Merida mountain bikes  They are equipped with front suspension, Shimano drive trains, and in many cases disc brakes.
