Bikes in Central and South America

Costa Rica

With the exception of one ride on our Arenal Multisport tour our Costa Rica tours are operated exclusively on paved roads. The road surfaces can still be rough occasionally so we so we offer hybrid frames.

We use Orbea hybrids and Cannondale mountain bikes, featuring aluminum frames handmade in the USA.  Both bikes feature 27-speed Shimano drive trains and powerful linear-pull cantilever brakes (V-brakes).

The tires are chosen for durability, ride quality and low rolling resistance.

All bikes are professionally maintained by our experienced mechanics at our Costa Rican headquarters in La Fortuna, near Volcan Arenal.

Chile and Argentina

Our trips in Chile and Argentina are designed entirely on paved roads. You have the option of Merida Road bikes or Hybrid bikes that consist of GT and Merida mountain bikes outfitted with much skinnier tires.
