Welcome to the July 2012 ExperiencePlus! Rambler Featuring France

BienvenueA welcoming dessert on the Cycling the Languedoc tour with ExperiencePlus

Welcome to the France themed edition of the Rambler newsletter!

As the cycling world focuses on its love/hate relationship with the Tour de France, we thought it a perfect time to focus on why we love France for all it has to offer those of us who ride at a “slightly” slower pace.  We begin with Fort Collins Staff Jo Baldwin’s report on her impressions (and photos) from the inaugural voyage of the Cycling the Languedoc Plus! French Catalonia.  Also featured this month is a report from the winner of the Send a Teacher Traveling Award, Sally Miller, and her “trip of a lifetime” Bicycling the Best of Provence Plus! the Luberon and Aix.

We are also excited to announce that French tour leader and country coordinator Marie Lavigne has moved back to Colorado and will now offer ExperiencePlus! travelers the benefit of full service travel agent – read more below. Finally, tour leader John Giebler shares a refreshing Provenςal dessert recipe and Julie Horton, our Purveyor of Cycling Adventures, reviews Jean Auel’s Land of Painted Caves which is set in the Dordogne region of France 25,000 years ago.

We also wanted to remind you all that our $200, per person, Early Booking Discount for tours in Chile and Argentina, including Patagonia’s Lakes District and Chile’s Wine Country will expire on August 1st.

And finally we’d like to express our gratitude to all of you concerned about our well being during the recent High Park Fire which burned a record 87,284 acres. We are happy to report that the fire is 100% contained. Our thoughts transition to our neighbors in Colorado Springs and those without power on the east coast. Let’s hope that the rest of the summer is gentler on all of us…perhaps a cycling escape to Europe is in order!

Joyeux Le Quatorze Juillet! (Happy Bastille Day)
