At ExperiencePlus! we have always said that the people we travel and work with are our most important assets. Our travelers, tour leaders and staff all share a passion for exploring off the beaten path bicycling routes and meeting local people. This month, Monica and I (Maria Elena) would like to send a special note of appreciation to all our staff and tour leaders who work so hard to make ExperiencePlus!’s bicycling vacations a trip of a lifetime for hundreds of people every year. Over the coming months the Rambler will include a post introducing you to our staff in the office and out in the field. This month features a new staff member in the Fort Collins, Colorado office and a few of our European tour leaders. We’d also like to include some of you in this feature so send us your “bio” to firstname.lastname@example.org. For past customer interviews check out our archive online.
This edition of the Rambler also highlights our 2012 Latin America tours and marks the official beginning of our $200, per person, Early Booking Discount for trips in Costa Rica, Argentina and Chile.
Also in the news today – Happy Birthday Italy! June 2nd, 2011 is officially Italy’s 150th birthday. Our group of ExpeditionPlus! Italia 150 cyclists are approaching Torino and will be finishing their 1,400 mile ride tomorrow. For an update on that tour see our photos and post below. Our book review on The Leopard also touches on Italy’s 150th anniversary, and is brought to you by traveler Bill Giovinazzo.
June marks the official start of summer and Bike Month in Colorado (scheduled a month later than the rest of the nation in the hopes that we won’t have snow). Folks in the Fort Collins area should plan to stop at the ExperiencePlus! Bike to Work breakfast station on June 22nd. Email us for details.
We hope all of you have fun summer bicycling adventures to look forward to.

The great news is that prices haven’t increased, and for a short time these departures are on sale! After cycling in Latin America for over 15 years, we are still seeking ways to improve our itineraries and we think you’ll be pleased by some exciting changes we’ve made for 2012. Read more about your bicycling opportunities in Latin America.
ExperiencePlus! is very pleased to introduce you to our new Reservations and Sales Associate in the US office, Jo Baldwin.
This month we also are featuring the first of four posts introducing you to the new tours leaders you might meet on tour. We’ll also include updates from veteran and some of your longtime favorite leaders.
Read on to learn more about some of the fascinating folks who may be leading your next bicycle tour and stay tuned next month for more stories from new and familiar faces.
As the Italy 150 Expedition draws to a close we have heard a few snippets from the cyclists on the road. Mostly have commented that this is a true trip of a lifetime and one veteran Expedition cyclist said – “this is the hardest bike tour of all”. After all their hills, towns and even some mountains our intrepid cyclists will pedal into Torino tomorrow to a grand reception.
Check out some of the photos from the road (we’ll be updating this gallery as we get more in the next few days, so stay tuned!)
In celebration of Italy’s 150th birthday ExperiencePlus! traveler Bill Giovinazzo reviews The Leopard by Giuseppe Di Lampedua.

The lunchtime tradition at The Farm (our European Headquarters in Italy) is for two people to make everyone else lunch. This dessert recently became a new favorite and since strawberries are in season we thought we’d share.
Here is the recipe for Strawberry Lasagna with Cream.
Happy Cycling until next month!
