2010 Bicycle Tours, Discounts, Re-Cycle Rewardsby ExperiencePlus! - Tuesday, July 27, 2010
August is the month ExperiencePlus! staff finalizes the next year’s tour schedule and prepares for the busy fall bicycle touring season in Europe. We now have the majority of our 2010 departure dates listed on our website and will be posting our prices over the next few weeks. Our September 9, 2010, yes 2010, trip along the Danube in Germany, Austria and Hungary will soon be sold out with a waiting list – a reminder that now is the time to start planning your 2010 cycling vacation.
Cycling temptations in 2009 and 2010 that you cannot ignore:
We’re happy to announce our new Umbria and Southern Tuscany Plus! Florence tour for 2010, featuring the areas made famous by Frances Mayes in her book, Under the Tuscan Sun, wonderful wines and some of the most photographed landscapes in Italy.
Join us this October or March 2010 for the first-ever bicycle tours of Chile’s wine region and continue along the remote Pacific coast on our Chile Wine Country Plus! the Pacific Coast departures. These itineraries will leave you trying to decide which you enjoy more, the wine or the rides – luckily you get both!
The Return of the Classics – Not “new” but “re-newed” itineraries in 2010 include:
Bicycling Veneto and the Dolomites of Italy, recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site the Italian Dolomites have 18 peaks over 9,000 feet and our bicycle tour includes the famous Sella Massif ride over 4 passes. Charming mountain villages and a mix of Italian, Austrian-German culture and cuisine complete the package.
The Little Bicycle Tour of Tuscany begins in Florence and ends in Lucca– one of our favorite towns in all of Italy. You will cycle through and stay in the towns that have made Tuscany famous.
Bicycling Sardinia – we were the first company to develop a bicycle tour in Sardinia in 1995, and we can’t wait to go back! This longtime staff favorite is more intriguing this year because we’ve made it easy for you to combine three of the best cycling islands of the Mediterranean: Corsica, Sardinia and Sicily. So whether you have time for our entire north to south Mediterranean Island Adventure or just one island you’ll discover some of the best rides and food specialties in the world. **ExpeditionPlus! riders take note – all the thrills of an expedition with the full benefits (recycle credits!) of an ExperiencePlus! tour.
Andalucia is a 401 level cycling tour of southern Spain returning by customer demand. History, culture, and the terrain make this such a popular destination that our May 8 – 18 departure has limited space available.
Germany’s Romantic Road itinerary rides through some of the best-preserved towns and villages from the 15th through the 18th century. A combination of bike paths and quite roads make this a stress free bicycle tour.
