What happened to spring?
Despite cooler than usual temperatures, rain and wind our season in Europe is well under way with travelers joining us in Italy, Spain, France, Croatia, and the next few weeks will see us heading to Ireland, Slovenia and our first Euro Velo 6 Expedition will launch from France! The good news is that the forecast didn’t dampen anyone’s enthusiasm and the weather throughout Europe is improving. I (Maria Elena) am pleased to say that our inaugural cycling tour in Catalonia was a resounding success. Although we had unusually cool weather, spirits were high and we tasted, pedaled and enjoyed Catalonia and its coast inside and out. Some of us even dared to jump into the Mediterranean from our semi-private beach in Cadaques!
We’re also pleased to announce that people are enjoying our new titanium hybrid bikes so much we’ve already had several requests from riders to take them home. Read more about them in this newsletter, as well as an article from John Giebler offering more photography tips, a fabulous recipe for strawberry scones, the opportunity to spend a virtual weekend with Croatian tour leader Andro Tartaglia, and our book review this month features The Hare With Amber Eyes.
Our Early Booking Discount is still on for tours in South America, so if you have been thinking about that cycling trip in Patagonia, Northern Argentina, or Chile’s Wine Country now is the perfect time to get on board.
