We\'ll pass through the villages of Flussio and Tinnura on our way to Cuglieri. From there it\'s a downhill ride to the farm villages where we\'ll stay two nights. The local Farmers\' Cooperative has coordinated a successful agriturismo trade, where tourists like us can enjoy local hospitality, including lodging and dining with farm families. Distance: 65 km (40 miles).

Day 5: Rest day at agriturismo

Highlights: Optional ride to the Roman ruins of Tharros
Today is a day off the bikes for those who want a rest. Others may choose an optional ride to the Roman ruins of Tharros on the coast, where you can enjoy a relaxing swim at the beach before returning to the village for dinner together. Distance: your choice 0-50 km (0-31 miles).

Day 6: Bicycle to Sorgono

Highlights: Woolen rugs of Samugheo, ice cream in Sorgono
You\'ll follow the Tirso River to Fordongianus this morning, then we\'ll climb to Allai and on to Samugheo, known for its white, woolen rugs. From there, we continue on to our hotel in Sorgono, where we\'ve discovered world-class ice cream! Dinner together. Distance: 85 km (53 miles).

Day 7: Bicycle Sorgono to Su Gologone

Highlights: Coastal mountains of Sardinia, resort hotel with pool
We wind our way around the mountains of Gennargentu today - from Sorgono to Mamoiada, Orgosolo, and Oliena - before reaching our hotel in Su Gologone. Enjoy a dip in the hotel pool after a long day. Dinner together. Distance: 92 km (57 miles).

Day 8: Hike to Nuragic Village

Highlights: Visit to prehistoric Nuragic village, shepherds' barbecue
Leave your cycling shoes behind today as we enjoy a hike to some of the ruins and rock dwellings of the ancient Nuragic civilization that once inhabited this area. After our hike, we'll share a barbecue in the mountains with local shepherds. Dinner together this evening.

Day 9: Rest day

Highlights: Optional bike ride to Nuoro
This is a rest day at Su Gologone. Relax, take a walk, or ride to Nuoro for the day to see the rugs and handicrafts. Lunch is on your own, but we\'ll gather to tell stories of our day\'s adventures at dinner together this evening. Distance: 45 km (28 miles) for those who ride to Nuoro.
