Karla Picado

Karla was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica. After completing her degree in International Relations from the National University of Costa Rica, she obtained a scholarship to study for 1 year at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, U.S. This experience changed her life as she met students from countries she had always dreamed of visiting like Turkey, Cyprus, Nepal, Senegal, and Kenya. Karla loves ALL sports and has practiced many of them, but her favorites are biking, running, swimming, and basketball. She also loves traveling to foreign countries and learning to speak other languages, other than English and Spanish. She speaks intermediate French and Italian. She has led bike tours for ExperiencePlus! since 2001, mainly in Costa Rica, but also in Spain and France. She is also in charge of logistics and operations for Bike Arenal's Costa Rica tours from their base office in La Fortuna. If you have been on a tour with “nice” Mario Cordero, she is the “lucky wife”. She will love to tell you that “It was meant to be a Love Story”.
